Therapy for Over-Functioning Moms in Illinois.
You’re the one holding everything together — the schedules, the mental load, everyone’s emotions. Behind the scenes, you’re quietly burning out. I’m Jolene Altman, LCSW, and I offer secure telehealth therapy for moms across Illinois.
Are you an over-functioning mom?
You might look “high-functioning” to the world, but internally, you feel:
Resentful: like you’re doing everything for everyone, yet your own needs are invisible.
Overwhelmed: haunted by an endless mental to-do list that never stops.
Disconnected: like you’re just “surviving” rather than living your life.
Anxious: caught in a cycle of perfectionism, “doing more,” and people-pleasing to prove your worth.
Stuck: grappling with a late-diagnosed ADHD brain or mid-life transitions (perimenopause included) that feel impossible to navigate.
If people think you have your life together but you are quietly falling apart, you are in the right place.
Where do you see yourself?
Most of the women I work with see themselves in more than one of these and that’s exactly what the consult call is for.
Hi, I’m Jolene.
I’m a married, working mom of two, navigating the beautiful chaos of mid-life right alongside you. I’m an LCSW with a Master’s from Loyola University and a certification in Women’s Mental Health, and I’ve spent over two decades in this field. I’m direct, warm, and unapologetically real — because I ask you to be the same.
Why I’m different
Many of my clients say therapy with me gives them a sense of relief, like they can finally put words to their experience, get vulnerable, and breathe. They describe me as warm and approachable, but I’ll also gently challenge you to dig deep and do the work. We’ll explore the hard stuff together, and through it all, you’ll feel supported.
I value the relationship as the vehicle for growth. When you truly connect with yourself, it becomes easier to connect with others and fully participate in your life.
Not sure where to start?
That’s exactly what the free call is for.
A free 15-minute consultation — phone or video, no commitment. We’ll figure out together whether I’m the right fit, and if I’m not, I’ll point you toward someone who is.
